Spain - introduction

We‘re All Off to Sunny Spain… Viva Espana!

Spain is a country that many, if not most, holiday makers from Northern Europe (Britain, Germany, Sweden etc.) are familiar with. Lots of us born after the 1960’s will have been there on our holidays as children, and quite a few others born before the 1960’s are today looking to buy their retirement home there.

When we think about Spain, we often think about the South coast: Benidorm, Costa Del Sol etc. and conjure up images of seventies-style high-rise hotels and neon-lit cocktail bars. A “week on the Costa Brava” is often a phrase used in mirth when talking about a no-frills getaways to the sun.

But even if you should find yourself on a no-frills sun-bed by the pool you really don’t have to look that much further from your high-rise hotel to find that Spain is still as beautiful as it ever was. It is a country with a lot of soul - not just sol!
